Grassland Fund's Mission
The Grassland Fund Is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, Tax ID #77-0312791 devoted to the protection, conservation, and legal defense of the Grasslands, your water supplies, habitat, and sporting traditions
The Grassland Fund works closely with our important partners such as Ducks Unlimited and California Waterfowl Association. These organizations have limited funding supplies for legal and policy advocacy in every corner of the state. Donations to the Grassland Fund stay in the Grassland and work to protect our local wetland habitat for future generations to enjoy.
California, a large coastal state, has lost more than 90 percent of its wetlands since its settlement and development. This habitat is key for the migrations to waterfowl species as well as the protection of our waterfowling heritage. The Grassland Fund maintains 3 tops priorities- 1.) The defense of Grassland water supplies; 2.) Legal and educational efforts to protect the Grassland from harmful land use threats; 3.) The furtherance of conservation of habitat in the Grassland.
Currently results donations to the Grassland fund can be seen through our efforts on city and county general plan effrots, in addition of top notch legal advocacy and lobbyist to defend our water supplies and educate our legislators on the importance of these water supplies; and the hundreds of children who benefit from visiting the Grassland Environmental Education Center (GEEcE) each year.
